Kwark F13

Karim Rashid

The dictionary definition for quark as an elementary particle and fundamental element of matter. The Kwark lamp was created by Karim Rashid on the basic concept of an organic fluid landscape; a 3D model that creates a wavy, three-dimensional effect, that can be multiplied an infinite number of times by placing several lamps side-by-side. This lamp was designed not only as a practical everyday lighting fixture, but more than anything as a work of art in its own right, a sculpture, which decorates contemporary settings making them unique. A modular layout using several Kwark lamps can also be created according to individual taste. The collection consists of one lamp model for indoor use that can be mounted on either the wall or ceiling. The reticular structure is in die-cast aluminium, either natural or painted white or black, and is fitted with a rear panel which reflects the LED light, creating a luminous effect of volume. The lamp runs on mains power and is suitable for use with LED bulbs (24Vdc).
